I ate the remainder of pizza on my plate with haste, my eyes were hurting from the glare of the computer screen. I was in a long online poker tournament, that promised to go on for awhile; I was losing. Finally, with a stroke of luck, I managed to get a three of a kind of Aces. I instantly raised my ante and waited for others to fold; they didn’t. Unperturbed, I continued the raising game with ignorance, until I realized that if I lost this hand it’d be game over. Quickly and with technological speed only an online poker game can have, everyone went all in with their Custom online casino games Poker Chips.

The unfortunate aspect of online poker games is that before you’ve made your choice, you can’t look at other players reactions for reassurance, only the cold beep of a confirm button. Slowly, the hands across the digital table were revealed, and I quickly realized I was alone; over half the players had better hands. I slammed my fist onto the desk and swore, promising I’d never play online poker again. This was the 21st game I had lost, and that was just one too many.

I told my coworkers the next day, and they looked at each other and laughed. By the look in their eyes, I could tell that they were veterans of recreational poker. I told them I was addicted to online poker chips, but then they told me I needed to feel a real one.

They kept laughing at me for days on end. Though there were friendly little love taps, I started to get aggravated, I always thought of myself as a real poker player. With a joking tone that had a hint of offense, I told them that maybe they’d like to have me take them down at their own game.

In no time, I was sitting there hunched waiting to be initiated into my first real game of poker. They threw over my chips and I picked one up; it felt wonderful. It was called a 11.5g World Poker Tour Casino Poker Chip, and every component of it screamed quality. The 11.5g World Poker Tour Casino Poker Chip came in black, blue and red, priced for one or in sets of 100, and each had a beautiful shiny finish. I loved the look and feel of them, and I still do.

The Poker Game felt a lot slower than when I played online, but more genuine. No longer did I suffer the impatience I felt when a player left his computer desk; instead, I had human players right in front of me. I felt like I was a part of a game, rather than just a participant. Moreover, I was having fun with my Casino Grade Poker Chips.

Now I’m part of a somewhat large poker group and I’ll never go back. I haven’t started up my poker program since, considering I have no need for it anymore. Those Internet accessed tournaments were a joke compared to the unbridled excitement one actual game of poker provides. Soon enough, I’ll be as good as my new friends, but until then I’ll cherish my 21st loss with my Clay Casino Poker Chips.

Lock Poker is making waves with the Malta LGA
by Sunday,18 Sep 2011 Despite the fact that their logo appears on the Lock Poker website the Malta LGA says they are not affiliated The Poker industry has had more than its fair share of scandals, what with the events of April the 15th or Black Friday and the Full Tilt Poker scandal that rocked the online poker world one would have thought that there have been enough shady goings on to last a life time. Apparently Lock Poker disagree, they are currently in a spat with the Malta Licensing Authority as they have been displaying their logo on the Lock Poker website for some time despite the fact that according to the Maltese gaming authority the appearance on the Lock Poker site of their logo is both false and misleading. After looking into the matter a little more deeply it can be understood where the poker site may have made their mistake. Lock Poker belongs to the Merge Gaming Network which does, in fact, have a category four gaming license that was issued to them by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta. Lock Poker may have assumed that because the network was certified by the LGA then that would extend to them. The LGA have been very forceful in underlining the fact that this is absolutely not the case and the errant poker room are likely to come under massive pressure to remove the logo from both the Maltese authorities and their own network. The precise statement from the LGA was as follows; The Lotteries and Gaming Authority (the Authority’) would like to inform the public that the websitehttp://lockpoker.eu/ has no connection whatsoever with the Authority and therefore any mention of the Authority or licence issued by the Authority on the mentioned website is false and misleading. There isnt much room for interpretation from a statement like this, it is pretty clear what the situation is. The Maltese authority doesnt just have a very loud bark but an extremely tough bite as well. They havent hesitated to suspend and/or cancel the licenses of gaming companies that they have found to be in breach of their own rules. The list of suspended gaming sites is long and illustrious with the Betonbet, Gold Victory, Betchance and many more suspended sites able to vouch for this. Lock Poker are going to have to remove the logo or continue to face the wrath of the Maltese LGA one of the most respected gaming authorities in the world.

The EPL lives up to expectations
by Sunday,4 Sep 2011 It was a massive million dollar prize for the winner of the first EPL tournament The inaugural Epic Poker League tournament is finished with David Chino Rheem now a million dollars richer after fighting his way through a pool of professional poker pros to take the prize money and the title. The tournament took place at the Palms Resort in Las Vegas and featured a final table composed of some of the best poker players around. The top three consisted of Rheem along with the legendary Eric Seidel and the player ESPN rank top in the world, Jason Mercier. Rheem is no stranger to tough competition, he won well over one and a half million dollars for seventh place at the Main Event of the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) and $1.7 million for winning the World Poker Tour (WPT) Five Diamond Classic in 2009. None of these experienced pros put a foot wrong during the final table and it was an incredible 80 hands before the first player was knocked out. At the start of the day, Huck Seed was looking good after doubling his stack but was taken down by Merciers AK. Once Mercier took the lead it was almost impossible to stop him and he went on to eliminate Gavin Smith soon after. It was a coin toss as he went all in pre-flop with 99 only to be called by Merciers pocket Queens which held to see Seed off with a prize of a little over $150,000. It was then that Rheem decided to get into the action and knocked out Hasan Habib. At the start of play Habib had put himself at the top of the tournament but had been steadily bleeding chips on the final table until pushing all in with pocket sixes only to be bested by Rheems pocket sevens. Once down to the final three it was Mercier and Seidel who really went to war, with Rheem largely sitting to one side and letting them get on with it. It was the consummate professional, Seidel who managed to win the battle when he pushed all in with KJ and was called by Merciers 9 8. When the players saw a king on the flop they knew it was all over for Mercier and the last two were heads up. Eventually Rheem took Seidel out with A K against A Q once all the cards were on the board Rheem had a flush, the prize money and the title of champion.

Poker players take to the casinos in huge numbers
by Thursday,25 Aug 2011 In the wake of Black Friday many US poker pros have been making regular trips to the local casino The events of April 15th that have come to be known as Black Friday have left a huge mark on the online gaming community of North America. It is estimated that tens of millions of American citizens enjoyed playing poker online and thousands made their living from the game. An elite few were fully sponsored pros meaning that they were able to play with someone elses money and split the profits. When the online game was taken away from citizens of the United States the thousands of men and women who depended on online poker for their livelihood were left without a source of income. Former online players have dealt with these changes in a number of ways. Some have left the United States for Canada and other countries where it is legal to play, others have gone to the local casinos to play in live tournaments and tables leading to a massive increase in the number of players playing live. One former fully sponsored pro poker player is Bryan Trischetta. The fact that he cant play online anymore ensured that he had to start making regular visits to Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs casino room to make some money. Its a numbers game, He says of poker, the game he used to play on as many as 10 tables at the same time. The more you play, the better you do. Bryans highest place finish since playing live casino tables was $3,176 for a 6th place finish at the Mohegan Sun which was the biggest tournament in the history of the casino. Until Black Friday, I came here to get away, Trischetta laments. Now, Im coming all the time, primarily to play the tournaments. Trischetta is still looking to produce the kinds of results that he was able to come up with everyday online and has done well in the events held at the casino having cashed in three of the four biggest events the Mohegan Sun has held since Black Friday. Each time he cashed he made it to the final table coming seventh out of 119 in April for $1,154 and ninth out of 102 in May for $618 in the $285 buy-in events. There are many players in the same position as Bryan, all of them attempting to make a living in the casinos of the United states.

Lou Diamond Im A Celebrity USA
CelebPoker Star in Im CelebPokers resident Texas Hold em coach and established movie actor, Lou Diamond Phillips is playing a whole new game this summer as the star of Im A Celebrity USA. The former professional Poker player and star of Young Guns, who is now the face of the CelebPoker.com Poker School, is proving a big hit in the American version of the show, which also includes Stephen and Daniel Baldwin, brothers of Alec, and Janice Dickinson, who was runner up in the British series in 2007. Its great to see Lou proving such a hit in Im a Celebrity and were hoping hell show the same staying power in the show that hes demonstrated at the Poker table, said David Donovan, Chief Executive Officer of CelebPoker.com. Hes a really charismatic guy, which is why we chose him as one of the faces of CelebPoker.com. The 47-year-old actor, who also directs movies and television shows, entered the show when it began on June 1st and has been game for all the challenges that the shows producers have thrown him, beating all the other contestants to win Hang Tough a game that involved hanging from steel bars above a tank of stagnant water. The team are all glued to the coverage of the show, which we can catch over here on ITV2 and weve got our fingers crossed that Lou can win this one, added David, In some ways its a bit like poker as you need to mask your true feelings and hang in there if you want to win the big prize. When Im a Celebrity comes to an end, Diamond Phillips will return to work on the TV mini-series Love Takes Wing, which he is currently directing, as well as a part in Stargate Universe and the lead role in paranormal movie, The Invited. 17th June 2009 Issued on behalf of CelebPoker.com by Julian Bewley For further information please contact: (01244) 679 660julian@celebpoker.com About CelebPoker.comCelebPoker.com was voted the Best Poker Software 2007 by readers of Gambling Online Magazine and is an exciting, fully licensed and regulated online poker room available in 14 languages.

Justin Bonomo sets up his poker game in Malta
by Thursday,1 Sep 2011 In the wake of Black Friday, Justin Bonomo has left the US to play poker in Malta Yet another former online poker professional based in the United States has left the country in order to continue playing the online game. The latest player to up and leave is the poker sensation, Justin Bonomo. The 25 year old up and coming poker star has relocated to Malta in the Mediterranean in order to continue playing online. He joins a distinguished list of world famous players to leave the United States, including such legends as Phil Galfond, Olivier Busquet and Daniel Negreanu to name but a few. Most US players who leave the states in order to play online have opted to head North to Canada with others heading South towards Costa Rica and Central America.Poker in the United States is going to be missing out on a lot of talented live players as they all move abroad and Bonomo is no exception to this. Bonomo, along with every other US poker pro, has seen his earnings drop massively in the wake of the crackdown on online poker by the US Department of Justice (DoJ). This loss of earnings is undoubtedly what prompted him to head for the small island in the middle of the Mediterranean. The young player has already earned close to $3 million from live tournaments alone and is likely to once again take the online world by storm once he is up and running.Amongst other things, Bonomo won an event at the 2009 World Series of Poker Circuit at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas is going to arrive in Malta in time to participate in the huge World Poker Tour (WPT) Malta event on September 20th which, like all WPT events, is likely to have a prize pool of a somewhere around the 1 million mark. The trouble for online gamers began on April 15th when the DoJ came down on the three biggest online poker sites in the world in what has come to be called Black Friday. On this day it became almost impossible for US players to find an online game that they could register into. What was then the second largest online poker site in the world, Full Tilt Poker, never recovered from the problems they encountered then and has since ceased operating, at least temporarily.

Big name talent prepares for poker awards
by Tuesday,6 Sep 2011 The British Poker Awards are an excellent showcase for the massive talent that Britain has produced The British Poker Awards are getting closer and closer and the jury is still out as to which players are most likely to win. With a sterling performance from UK players at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2011 it is likely that there are going to be some new names mixed in with the old favourites. Players such as Jake Cody had a massive WSOP, winning over $800,000 for taking the winners bracelet in the $25,000 heads up no limit hold em event. He has the nomination for Best Tournament Player and Best Online Player. These are going to be difficult to win however as there are some massive poker names nominated alongside him in the form of Sam Trickett and Roberto Romanello for the title of Best tournament Player. Trickett first shot to poker fame during the 2010 WSOP where he cashed in no less than 6 separate events and then went on to storm his way through Asia, first at the Aussie millions and then in China when he won a reputed one and a half million dollars from high stakes cash games alone. More recently he just made 11th place at the Epic Poker Leagues (EPL) inaugural tournament for a prize of just under $50,000. Roberto Romanello is making a name for himself on the European Poker circuit. He won the World Poker Tour (WPT) Bratislava event earlier this year for a prize of $197,000 and the EPT Prague last year for a prize of $846,000. Managing to maintain the momentum, Trickett has been nominated in three categories this year. As well as the nomination for best Best Tournament Player he has the nominations for Best Cash Player and Best Social Media User. The Best cash Player is a massive title to win, other nominees include Roland de Wolfe and Richard Ashby. De Wolfe is a well known celebrity after having been playing on televisions Late Night Poker and at one point was the UKs highest earning poker player. He is also the first player ever to win both WPT and EPT events which he did in 2006. Ashby holds a WSOP winners bracelet for taking the seven card stud event in 2010, he also won the Aussie millions. The field of British poker pros is really an ever expanding pool of some really big names and it seems that there are always new players coming along to make it look easy.
